The 4-Fabric Forest - Blending in Nature
This series of quilts are made from two different pattens I designed. They started as photos turned into simple line drawings that are traced onto freezer paper. The series experiments with blending backgrounds and playing with different fabrics to represent trees. Students learn how to choose fabrics to create a foreground, middle ground and background. And to prove that a lot can be achieved with only 4 fabrics. It is also an introduction to the freezer-paper piecing method and designing from a photograph.
